The first step is to measure whatever can be easily measured. This is OK as far as it goes. The second step is to disregard that which can't be easily measured or to give it an arbitrary quantitative value. This is artificial and misleading. The third step is to presume that what can't be measured easily really isn't important. This is blindness. The fourth step is to say that what can't be easily measured really doesn't exist. This is suicide.
This idea of purity and you’re never compromised and you’re always politically ‘woke’ and all that stuff - you should get over that quickly. The world is messy; there are ambiguities, People who do really good stuff have flaws. People who you are fighting may love their kids, and share certain things with you.
You cant really begin to appreciate life until it has knocked you down a few times. You cant really begin to appreciate love until your heart has been broken. And you cant really begin to appreciate happiness until you've known sadness. Once you've walked through the valley, the view from the mountain top is breath taking.
Your gratitude is valuable for anyone. Is not grateful to everybody. Is to those Thankfully you really love and to you do something good and nicely to you are. If you waste your gratitude, your heart does not believe you any more you it so means.
